Premiere Vision 2016 | Inspiring Design from Paris

Posted on

We’re just back from an eye opening and refreshing trip to Paris for the annual Premiere Vision show. Premiere Vision is the largest fabric and yarn forum in the world. Every year design teams travel from all over the world to do their research and forecast trends for the coming year. This year, fashion designers browsed through trend forums, colours, textures, yarns and fabrics for 2017 / 2018.

As well as the Premiere Vision show itself being a great source of inspiration, the city of love also has some of the coolest shopping streets and and stores with beautiful displays. Paris’ Galeries Lafayette is one of the most beautiful stores in the world and is a must see for any fashion researcher. Galeries Lafayette are key influencers of retail and display around the world, and is home to all the leading fashion labels. Premier Vision Paris 2016

One of our favourite spots was Rue St Honore which is very chic and trendy. The street oozes some of the top designer stores, and we noticed that knitwear was central to many of the window displays. Colour blocking, oversized knits, knitwear as outerwear, fluffy textures and ribbs were among the many windows.

Le Marais, a historic district of Paris, boasts beautiful architectural buildings and many small boutiques. A funky place to shop, Le Marais offers great inspiration and insight to fashion researchers for the coming season. Edgy, contemporary and up and coming designers are also a key feature of the shopping scene in Le Marais, another reason why we love soaking up the atmosphere here!

We love attending Premiere Vision each year to gain insight and inspiration from the show and Paris itself, and we were delighted to see knitwear in the spotlight this year! We’re excited to share our inspiration for our 2017 collection with you soon.
